Hey Glimpsers!
I’m super excited to meet everyone and embark on this journey with each one of you! I have no doubt we’re going to have a great time.

My name is Kissmely Rincon, but feel free to call me Kiss; it’s shorter and easier to remember. I was born and raised in New York City and have spent most of my life in the Bronx. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Alfred University and my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. My ultimate goal is to become a licensed therapist right here in NYC.
Right now, I work as a teacher at Urban Assembly for Math and Science, where I teach Science and Health to high school students. I’m passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space for everyone around me, especially my students. I truly believe everyone deserves someone they can feel comfortable with, someone they can turn to when they need to decompress, and I love being that person for others.
Now, for a few fun facts about me: I’m Dominican and proud! I love to read, and if a book has a great storyline, I’ll finish it in two days or less. I’m also a huge TV and movie buff, I’ve probably watched more than I should admit. My all-time favorite shows to binge are Friends and The Vampire Diaries. Oh, and I’m a sucker for a good dad joke; cheesy humor always gets me.
This will be my second Global Glimpse trip, but my first time traveling to Costa Rica. I’m so excited to explore a new country and share this experience with all of you. I’m fluent in Spanish and look forward to learning more about Costa Rican culture, traditions, and the unique way Costa Ricans speak Spanish.
I’ll be reaching out soon to connect with you and your families. Keep an eye out for a few emails before the trip; they’ll include my introduction and some important info about what to expect. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to know each of you!
Warmly,
Kissmely
