Introduction: Deb Bartley Carter, GGL

Hello Glimpsers!

My name is Deborah Bartley-Carter, I am excited to be one of two amazing Global Glimpse Leaders going on the trip to Costa Rica with you all! Before the trip, I wanted to let you know a little more about myself.

I may not need an alarm clock when I have a good cup of tea.  Iced with lemons or hot with milk and honey-either way, it is my favorite way to start the day. I use the pronouns she/her/hers and currently reside in New Jersey. I have been in education for 25 years, specializing in Social Studies and Language Arts as a classroom teacher and school administrator.  My passion for travel started in college when I studied abroad—and it only grew stronger when I got to explore the world again as a Fulbrighter.  I learned that every place has something to teach us if we’re open to adventure. I love volunteering with groups that support literacy and community service. I am also a big fan of ROM-COMs and a good mystery podcast.

I will be reaching out in the next few weeks to learn a little about you all as well before we leave. I’m beyond excited to share this experience with you, and I have a feeling you’re going to come back seeing the world—and yourself—in a whole new way. The adventure is waiting–Let’s Go!!!

Sincerely,

Ms. Deb

Hi Hannah, I am not sure if I am doing this correctly but I wanted to leave you a note to say I love you and miss you already. I hope you have the time of your life and make a million happy memories. I’m so glad your flight worked out. You’ll find this funny…Daddy’s flight got cancelled AGAIN today and there are no other flights available so he is now driving home to CT from Cincinnati!!!! after 3 cancelled flights over 2 days! We love you to the moon and back. xoxo Mommy
