HOLA Glimpsers!
I’m really looking forward to this trip and getting to know each of you as we experience something totally new together.

My name is Arielyss Santiago. I was born and raised in Massachusetts and have been living in New York City for the last six years. I’m an NYU grad and work as a clinical social worker in education, supporting students in navigating all the highs and lows that come with growing up. My background is in substance use and co-occurring disorders, and I’m passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen and supported.
A few fun things about me: Outside of work, I stay involved in scholarship efforts because I care deeply about fair opportunities for students, especially those who are dreaming big but haven’t always had access to the same resources. I’m a big fan of funky art installations around the city, I love to read but have a hard time actually finishing books, and my go-to Starbucks order is a venti oat milk brown sugar shaken espresso with cold foam (highly recommend). Unfortunately for you, but very fortunately for me, I’m a proud Boston sports fan. Yes, that means Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins, to my core.
This will be my first Global Glimpse trip and my first time heading to the Dominican Republic, so I’m coming in with a lot of excitement and curiosity. I’ll be reaching out soon to connect with you and your families before we leave. Spanish is my first language, so if you don’t speak it and you’re feeling a little unsure, I’ve got you! I’m happy to help you brush up on some key words or phrases before we go.
See you all soon!
Arielyss
