INTRODUCING me!

Hello Glimpsers and Families!

My name is Tyan and I am one of your GG Leaders on our trip to the Dominic Republic. I am excited to embark on this journey with you all! This is my second year as a GGL and I’m thrilled to be returning back this year. Last year, I had an amazing time leading my first delegation in Turrialba, Costa Rica. My ties with GG run strong as I myself have traveled with the organization as a student to Granada, Nicaragua as well as was a summer intern!

A Little About Me:

I was born and raised in the East Bay Area. I’m an educator, mentor, healing practitioner and creative who is passionate about global education, youth empowerment, and creating spaces where people can show up as their full selves. When I’m not working with students you can find me out hiking, traveling ( I’ve traveled to 8 countries so far and the DR will be my 9th!) I’m also a foodie and matcha connoisseur so I love cooking and trying out new spots.

What continues to draw me back to Global Glimpse is the powerful combination of cultural immersion, leadership development, and service learning. I believe that some of the most impactful lessons happen outside the classroom, and Global Glimpse gives us the chance to step into those lessons and experiences with open hearts and curious minds.
