Introduction: Emily Yang

Hey everyone! My name is Emily Yang (she/her), and I will be a senior at Balboa High School in San Francisco this Fall. I’m born and raised in the Bay Area, and San Francisco is one of my favorite places to be. Some of my hobbies are swimming, playing the flute, reading, and trying new foods! Some of my passions are public policy, environmental justice, and marine sciences. In the future, I hope to become a lawyer defending marginalized communities. I hope that by studying abroad in Costa Rica, I get to deepen these passions and immerse myself in the natural environment. I’m also excited to learn about the traditional culture and work on our CAP! I’m super excited to get to know everyone and grow together throughout the trip.
