Intro to kamilah

Hey everyone! My name is Kamilah, and I’m excited to be a rising senior at Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in Manhattan. I’m a dance major training with the Ailey. I currently live in the Bronx, where I also attended a performing arts program called Mind Builders. For the past two years, I’ve served as Student Council President at Mind Builders, along with taking on other leadership roles that have helped me grow as both a leader and a person.Outside of school and dance, I love spending time with my friends and family, playing games, and listening to music. Some of my favorite games are Fortnite, Roblox, UNO, and Family Feud. Right now, some of my favorite artists are Drake, SZA, Jhené Aiko, Brent Faiyaz, and Kendrick Lamar.

I also love traveling with my family, especially with my three baby nephews. I’ve been on several Caribbean cruises and have visited places like the Dominican Republic, Barbados, Aruba, and other Caribbean islands. In 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Africa, which sparked my interest in exploring even more of the world.That’s one of the reasons I applied to Global Glimpse. I’m excited about the opportunity to participate in service learning, experience a new culture, and meet people from different backgrounds. I can’t wait to meet all of you and share this amazing experience together!
