Hi everyone!
My name is Karelys Silva, and I teach at the Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics. I’m thrilled to be one of the two Global Glimpse leaders accompanying our amazing young leaders on their journey to Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic!
Before we take off, I wanted to introduce myself and share a bit about who I am.

I was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, and raised in the Bronx, which I proudly call home. I have a passion for exploring new places and immersing myself in different cultures. This fall, I’ll be entering my fourth year teaching Global History to high school students and I truly love what I do.

I’m also a proud Global Glimpse alum! I traveled to Nicaragua with GG in 2016, and that experience continues to shape me to this day. I’ve seen firsthand just how powerful and transformative this journey can be for young people and I’m honored to now help lead it.
I’ll be in touch before the trip so we can connect and get ready for the adventure ahead.
Can’t wait to meet you all. See you soon!
Warmly,
KS
