Hello greatly missed patrons, today you are hearing from leaders of the day Max, Liliana, and Clotilde. Our morning started off SUPER early with everyone waking up at 6 am to make it to Puerto Plata. We took a bus through the mountains and the roads were very curvy and windy. Daniel had amazing aux on the bus, everyone was singing along as we started our journey. Today many of us learned what a Batey is, and we got to see what it looked like first hand. We talked with the community leaders and the children who lived there, learning about their lives in the DR migrant community. After that we had lunch, and then with a quick drive we ended up at the beach. It was really hot out and the sand almost burned our feet off, so we all jumped in the water and had a blast. We wrapped up our day in the pool and with dinner. We had an awesome day, and are very excited to do it all over again tomorrow.

Wow Maddie,
6 AM wake-ups and burning hot sand sound intense, but singing through the mountains and jumping in that ocean sounds amazing! 🌊 I love that you are learning so much about the migrant communities while still making great memories with the group. Sleep tight, stay hydrated, and have an awesome day tomorrow!
