“I have sand in my ears”

Starting with a nice and relaxing 8:00 AM wakeup, we got ready for our well deserved day at the beach. Breakfast was eggs with tomato, pork, fried bread, Panamanian cheese, and fruit, which our wonderful chef, Ilca, cooked with love. After we thanked Ilca and Leonella and had our daily health check, we gathered our bathing suits, towels, sunscreen, and water, and loaded onto the bus to Rincon del Faro. We listened carefully to the lifeguards instructions before heading into the beach and pool, where we got to meet the other Panama trip from New York.

Around 1:00, we had a lunch of chicken fingers and fries with a side salad and juice to energize us for our last free time in Panama. We headed back to the hotel at 2:30 and got ready for the rest of afternoon in Las Tablas, where we got our final souvenirs, ate out at new restaurants, and got gifts for our families. People went to McDonalds, Dominos, beauty stores, boutiques, and more.

Once everyone returned, we had a dinner of potatoes, chicken and vegetables, salad, and juice. After we thanked our amazing chefs, we had our nightly meeting where we introduced our new LDD’s, Nyron and Samyam, and they showed their talent of singing “Baby” by Justin Bieber in Opera style. Not a dry eye in the room.

Throughout our time during the beach, we played an abundance of water games that included fishy fishy cross my ocean, chicken fight, we raced and played volleyball on the shore. Also big love to Randy for trying to teach us how to body Surf and for our other crewmates for having fun at the beach. We had a great day after three hard days of working nonstop on the turtles nursery and our excited to see the progression of the nursery.

That’s a wrap for the day – tomorrow, we head back to Panama City to prepare for our journey home.

Love and miss you all!
