Hiiii from the Global Glimpse group! Today has been a wonderful day full of nature and bonding. We woke up, bright and early, at 6:30. Later we had breakfast, which consisted of sausage, eggs, bread, and fruit. After waking up to a delicious meal, we had a musical bus ride to Sarigua National Park. It was a beautiful landscape, and we learned that the park was over 8,000 hectares. We went on a peaceful hike through the land, learning about the elements in the soil, and the significance of erosion. Our tour guides, Alexander and William were incredibly helpful and taught us numerous informational facts about Sarigua National Park. On the hike, we saw a cute little bird! It was tiny and nestling in a small nest.

Later we had some fun and went to get ice cream! We all ordered delicious flavors. I got Cherry Crunch! We were all conversing, bonding, and licking. Because we were so good and behaved well, we were able to walk around the area. Coincidentally everyone went to the same store. I, personally, was in complete shock of how cheap everything was. They had shorts for less than $3!!!!

Anyways, after that we all headed back to the hotel and had a filling lunch containing rice, plantains, and beef.
Evening:
This afternoon we had our first ever dance class!!! The guy teaching us, Antonio Perez, was such an amazing and energetic person. He taught us plenty of new moves and everyone was filled with energy!! Although, everyone was tired they were still dancing and we all just had a really great time together. We learned bachata and some salsa. He also taught us a The Congo Dance of Panama, which is an Afro-Panamanian art form native to Panama. It was very interesting moment where we learned more about culture and practiced dancing at the same time.

After that we had free time!! This was all of our first chance to get out and explore the plaza on our own in groups of 5. Many of us went out to the super 99, Mr. Tea Boba shop and to McDonalds. We had to try and not to get full though because we needed to eat dinner shortly after. At 6:00 when dinner came around we had yellow rice with Coca Cola chicken, mash potatoes and salad with a glass of lemonade. The food was amazing!! Then as usual, we had our nightly meeting where we discussed the schedule for tomorrow and had the new students take place as the new LDD (Leaders of the Day). At the end of our nightly meeting we heard the comments left on the Blog, which made us super happy to know that everyone is thinking of us.
