Student Trip Blog

Hi everyone!!

Hii everyone, my name is Izabella Martinelli- not Martinelli the apple cider haha- but a lot of my friends call me Sage because of an inside joke that started with my best friend, and it snowballed into a lot of other people calling me that too lol. I go to Westmont High School and I’m going to be a senior next year with my brothers as incoming freshmen. I’m super excited to meet all of you in person and not just over zoom call.

Going on a trip to Panama was definitely not the way I originally expected to spend my summer break, but I try to do different things that sound interesting. What got me hooked on GG was the fact that you get to help others. I am an Explorer in the Campbell Police Department, so helping others is what I want to do with my life. Some other things that I love to do is read, draw, and write. I read novel genres from thriller to romance to mystery. I don’t draw as much as I used to, but I still love it. Writing is one of the things that I got into more recently, as well as playing the guitar. Journaling is definitely a challenge for me just because it is difficult to focus on what to write, so I like sticking to fiction. School sports is something that I tried getting into, but opted out of it for doing horseback riding outside of school. I take lessons in Gilroy, where I do jumping and have competed in a few competitions.

A big part of my life is music, and it always has been. My parents constantly have the radio playing and my brothers have their headphones in most of the time, so it’s safe to say my family and I revolve around it. Despite this, we all have different tastes- give or take a few bands and artists like Metallica, Arctic Monkeys, Queen, and No Doubt. The artists and bands that separate me from my family would be Pierce The Veil, Aryana Brand, James Marriott, and Smiling Jackals. I listen to a lot of the smaller artists than I do the bigger ones lol.
