Hola! Hola!
My name is Judi Escamilla (she/ella), and I will be one of your GGLs for the DR (C1A)! Here is a quick intro of who I am before we all travel together!

I am a chemistry and physics teacher at Westinghouse College Prep. My family is from Durango, Mexico, so I go there pretty often to visit family. I am excited, I love to travel and aim to visit 30 countries before I’m 30—almost there! Last year, I took students to Japan, and we’re planning another trip to Thailand next year. Traveling has helped me become more independent and confident, and opened my eyes to the beauty of the world.

My favorite travel memory was a 2019 service trip to Guatemala, where I spent a week without tech, painted a school, and helped students with English or joined them at recess. That experience still reminds me to stay humble, be grateful, and appreciate the simple things in life.

Approach this trip with openness and curiosity. The more you put in, the more you’ll gain—make the most of it!
See you all soon! Hasta luego!
