Hello everyone!

Hello! We are your Program Coordinators—Mauricio and Mateo—and we are so excited to welcome you soon to beautiful Panamá!

The countdown is almost over, and soon we’ll be together in a country filled with incredible people, vibrant culture, and endless opportunities to learn and grow. We can’t wait to share this unforgettable journey with all of you. Make sure you bring your full presence with you.

But first, let us introduce ourselves a bit more!

I’m Mauricio Amiel, proudly from Argentina and always ready to explore the world. I teach Spanish, Literature, and Latin American Philosophy, and I have a deep love for reading, writing, learning, and sharing knowledge. I have more than 10 years of experience working with students, and I still love it as the first day.  In my free time, I enjoy photography, music, cooking (and of course, eating!), playing drums, and traveling—my greatest passion. Traveling has given me a deep sensitivity to cultural diversity and has shaped my sense of global citizenship, filled with curiosity and empathy. This will be my second time with Global Glimpse, and I couldn’t be more excited to meet you. 

My name is Mateo Andrés, I’m originally from a territory called Mykytá, which means farm-land, now known as Bogotá, located in the Cundiboyasense plateau, in the Colombian Andes. I graduated as an anthropologist at the University of Los Andes (Colombia) and did a technical study in Andean Ancestral Medicine at the Jatun Yachay Wasi University (Ecuador). I have an amazing family, consisting of my wonderful path partner and wife Francia Elena, our wonderful daughter Aba, and our old and cute dog Laika. We currently live in the southeast of Brazil. I love to travel, to ride my bike, to juggle, I love to sing and to play my instruments, I also love cooking and handcrafting. For a couple of years I’ve been training capoeira, a cultural expression/martial art/dance from Brazil.

Together, we are committed to making this experience in Panamá not only fun and adventurous but also deeply meaningful. We can’t wait to meet you and begin a journey you’ll remember for the rest of your life.With excitement and warm wishes,
