hello all!

Hello everyone! I am Aleenah Parrish, a senior at Westmont High School. I will be traveling to Chitré, Panama, on the 27th of July, and I am excited to meet all of you.

In my free time, I enjoy video editing, video games, listening to music, photography, writing, and exploring nature. All of these hobbies/activites have allowed me to understand the world. They have taught me just how important creativity is. To me, creativity has always meant freedom. As a child, I developed a love for music and video games, and when I got older, video editing, photography, and writing have all granted me the ability to create something of my own. While these are a few examples of what I enjoy, they matter so much to me. Music especially, I am always up for a conversation regarding music.

All in all, I encourage everyone to go and make something and to never doubt yourself or the process. What we create is always going to be meaningful because it represents who we are.

Of course, I am excited to explore a new country, however, the culture it is the most important aspect of this trip. I want to explore new values, explore what people have made and what it means to them, try new foods, meet new people, and learn their stories. I know that every person we meet will teach us a lesson that is valuable. I am grateful that this opportunity will teach us how to grow.
