Hasta Luego panama🇵🇦

It’s hard to believe today is our last full day in Panama. The group started by having a memorable last breakfast at Villa Tableña and bonding with vivid conversations. Next, although everyone wished to stay longer, we began packing for our trip to Panama City🌴. Before leaving, we had our last reflection at the park, where we shared our biggest takeaways from the trip with each other. Then, we enjoyed our final ice cream, and headed to lunch back at Villa Tableña🍦. Time flew by fast, and if I told you it was a quick lunch, it’d be an understatement as we had to rush onto our bus. 🚍 Don’t get us wrong, the food was one of the best we’ve had! What wasn’t fast though, was our five hour bus ride back to Ojos Del Rio Hotel in Panama City🫩…(Shout out Molyca) Once we arrived at the hotel, we checked into our rooms and had another delicious dinner. 🍽️ After eating, during our nightly meeting we did our final big love appreciations, where we had a sentimental moment, and headed to our rooms for our last sleep in Panama💤💤…

LDD Reflections:

Nathalie: As my trip to Panama comes to an end, here is want I have learned about myself as LDD and throughout the course of my whole trip. Being LDD taught me that as a leader it is important to put myself in uncomfortable situations for the sake of my group. I also learned that my voice as a leader is important and it is also important to use it in order to be heard and make a difference even if it’s in a small group of glimpsers striving to make a difference. Overall, my trip to Panama inspired me to be a better person in many ways. For example, I was able to see the passionate workers of Panama such as Sandra, Oscar, Orlando, and many more which work everyday to pursue their dreams and passions, they truly inspired me to come back home and work hard for what I believe. As my time here comes to an end I hope my group knows how important their voice and actions can be in the world and I hope they come back to California with new perspectives.
I will miss you Panama, xoxo ❤️

Melanie: Being an LDD during my Global Glimpse trip in Las Tablas, Panama, has taught me so much about myself and changed my perspective on the world. I learned being a leader isn’t only about keeping order and time. It’s about uplifting others, staying consistent, and having fun! I also learned people are not always critically judging you the way you might think they are. It may feel scary to speak up, but the same way you don’t analyze others’ every move, they don’t either! Instead, most people are open minded and listening, even encouraging. Looking at the bigger picture, being in Panama allowed to stay motivated on my passion of protecting our environment. Planting trees and working hands-on in the community allowed me to see real change. The potential people have when they work together is truly immense!🌴I wish the LT1A delegation were also able to take home memorable experiences, knowledge, and lifelong friends🇵🇦. One day, I hope to come back and visit Panama once again.❤️💙
