Hi Global Glimpsers!
My name is Silvia Nuñez and I am extremely excited to be one of your Global Glimpse Leaders for our upcoming trip! I was raised in Brooklyn, New York and enjoyed being in a global city, exposed to different cultures. I am looking forward to being part of this journey with you all and being part of a transformative experience. This is my first trip with Global Glimpse but not my first international one! I have led group of high schoolers on a trip to Berlin, Germany and I have traveled to Italy, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. While in Puerto Rico, I worked on community projects focused on rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Maria. Knowing the impact global travel has had on me and my development as a young adult, I was drawn to Global Glimpse, the mission, and intention behind the experience.
I worked in the Springfield Public School system as well as the Hartford Public School system in workforce development and college counseling area as well as teaching special education reading classes. Now, I work in workforce development and Talent Acquisition. On my free time I like to read, write, go on hikes, and exploring new restaurants. I also enjoy live music and my favorite season is the fall!
Panama has been a dream destination for me as it is very historical and important in our global story. I look forward to experiencing this with you all and learning together!
