GGL Intro

Hello everyone!

My name is Carlin Coffey and I’m super excited to be one of your GGLs this summer as we travel to Constanza, Dominican Republic in July. Before the trip, I wanted to let you know a little about myself!

I am an English teacher at Roberto Clemente Community Academy where I’ve worked for the past 8 years. Although this is my first summer as a travelling GGL, but I’ve been involved with the program at my school for the past 3 years & have seen the ways GG has impacted my students’ lives. I recently finished a Master’s degree in Education from DePaul University and, last fall, got married. I love being outdoors, trying new foods, and reading. Travel plays a huge role in my life & my most recent trip abroad was to Japan during cherry blossom season (as seen in my picture!).

In the coming weeks, my co-GGL and I will be reaching out to learn a bit more about you and answer any questions. I’m excited to share this opportunity with you all and know it’s going to be an unforgettable experience.
