Getting to the Most Beautiful Country in the World…and Getting to the Nicest Base House in the Milky Way

Hola a todo el mundo…..hello everyone… we’re about to start one of the most significant and nicest experiences of our life…and we couldn’t pick a better place than Costa Rica and the nicest village Aquiares, the largest coffee plantation in the country. After coming out of the airport we head to Turrialba, the county where our new home is based. After a few minutes, the big buildings stayed behind and the mountains occupied the scene. Nightfall, rush hour, and the rain delayed us, but our experienced driver Piña, drove us safely.

A very nice meal was waiting for us and the sidekick….a soursop juice, was the perfect combination. We had a quick introduction to our base house, kitchen staff, Veri and Yer, and after dinner, we went to sleep…a very well-deserved end.

Today, we had a kind of late start, bfast at 8 am with a delicious “gallo pinto“, prepared for our lovely kitchen staff. Gallo pinto is rice mixed with beans, the beans had cilantro, onion, and bell pepper; fried eggs, bread, and delicious dark roast coffee, as well as fruits and passion fruit juice. We did a funny activity to learn our names which involved some dance moves. We continue with an introduction seminar led by our PCs, Diana and Memo (the best PCs ever…according to Memo’s mom).

After lunch…another traditional dish called casado which is rice and beans (not mixed-up) we jumped in the pool, others just relaxed and some others played card games. Around 3 pm, we went to the mini market close by and then we played at the basketball and volleyball courts, we teamed up with local kids and it was a very nice experience. Now we’re about to have our awesome dinner which is “pastel de yuca” like lasagna but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

Later on, we’ll have our very first official nightly meeting where we’ll meet tomorrow’s Líder Del Día. Today was a good day.

Pura vida
