Get Excited for Panama! -GGL Post

Hi Glimpsers!!!

My name is Heather Schacher and I am one of your two Global Glimpse Leaders for our upcoming trip to Panama!! I am beyond excited to travel with you all, and be part of your Global Glimpse journey, which you will remember forever! Fun Fact: This will be my THIRD time leading a Global Glimpse trip, but my 4th time traveling with Global Glimpse because I was a Global Glimpser the summer after my junior year of high school just like you! With Global Glimpse I have traveled to Esteli, Nicaragua (2014), Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic (2023), and Turrialba, Costa Rica (2024).

I have been a high school teacher for 6 years, and I work as a math teacher at Animo Watts in Los Angeles. I am passionate about Education and Social Justice, and am also a huge foodie (especially spicy foods)! I love outdoor adventures and spend a lot of time doing yoga and pilates or going on adventures with friends!

I know some of you might be feeling a bit nervous, but just know that is normal! I hope more than anything you are EXCITED because you are about to have an AMAZING experience, experience a whole new culture, and grow as an individual! I look forward to getting to know each of you in just a few short weeks. Keep an eye on your emails for more communication from us in the coming weeks before our trip!

I cant wait to see you all at the airport THREE hours before our flight on July 25th, and don’t forget your passports!! 🙂
