Day 10: Closing reflection Day

Welcome back GG community!!! This blog is brought to you by the baddest: Jayden, Sherly, and Preston. Today was the long awaited FUN DAY!
We started the day great by having a late wake up call (8:00 AM). Everyone woke up refreshed and we were all ready to take on the TREASURE of a day. (If ykyk) To start our morning off strong we had DELICIOSO huevos and toast. We also had iced teaaaaa. We had amazing conversations at the breakfast table and there were a lot of magic tricks.
After, we got on the bus and headed to the Beach in Las Tablas. The speaker was finally charged so, we sang along to an array of songs and we bonded over cows. MOOOAH. Our commute today was short and when we got off the bus we were surprised to see another bus… We were confused. Who could this be on our fun day?
SURPRISE! It was Chitre-2D! We got settled and ran to the pool to greet our new friends. A lot of them were from the Bay Area. It was interesting to see and meet new people from different backgrounds. It was also fun to hear about our different GG experiences. We had the same start dates but our experiences couldn’t be more different.
We spent the beginning of the day swimming in the pool and getting adjusted to our new surroundings. We played fun games like Volleyball, Marco Polo, and Mafia. Once we became accustomed to the water, we ran to the beach. We got baptized by Emmanuel, swam with crocodiles, and had A LOT of chicken fights. It was a great bonding experience.
After we left the beach, we formed a line to start our RUNWAY. As we entered the pool area, Chitre-2D was blown away by our presence and our amazing mogging skills. We strutted across the pool deck and we went into the pool.
Right before lunch we BROKE OUT into our infamous dance. (Created by Emmanuel and popularized by Laila and Amya.

We ate our fries and chicken sticks. We then went back to the water and enjoyed the rest of our time there.
After a fun day in the sun, everyone was sunkissed and RED. We said our final goodbyes to our beloved Bus driver, Emilio.
We headed back to the bus and again bonded over our amazing music.
We got back to the Villa and had free time for 2 hours. We explored the city in groups and did things like thrifting, going to the bakery and buying souvenirs for our fam that is watching (Love you).
SURPRISE AGAIN! We went out for dinner at Las Tablas BBQ. Everyone was dressed in nice attire and we took really cute pictures. We ate fries and a burger. (It was delicious)
We headed back to the Villa for our nightly meeting hosted by yours truly. We started off with the usual reflection of the day alongside our pluses and wishes for the group. We passed on our torches and we revealed the schedule for tomorrow.
LAST SURPRISE! We started our big love circle and we reminisced on all of our memories together. We have really built a community with one another and a lot of us are going to miss this experience. We didn’t expect to shed so many tears, hugs, and laughter. Although we started off this trip not knowing what was going to come out of it, we are ending it with so many new connections, experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime.
To end off this fun day we wrote letters to our amazing supporters who make GG trips like this possible. We are forever grateful for this opportunity.
We will end off the night packing our luggages, getting ready to leave Las Tablas. We will see you guys tomorrow! Hope you guys enjoyed! Stay tuned!

HI sisters, I miss you girls so much and I can’t wait to debrief about India and Panama with you. To my brothers I miss yall and cannot wait to see you and have so much fun when I get back. Farha I miss you so much baddie and I have to debrief with you about everything because theres too much going on. Isma my baddie I miss you and i cant wait to text you when I get back we are going to have so many FT calls. I love you all <3

I’m going to the beach tomorrow and im not leaving until I get at least a little bit of a tan line lolll. Broo you dont even know who I saw at the gym.. its actually not who you think it is butt i still felt so awkward lmaoao ive been trying to be locked in but i fear i have not lol. Today we took Julie to tractor supplies and I was laughing sm bc she had hair everywhereee. I went overseas in college in 1995 and fast forward to 2024, I recognized a fellow traveler in front of trader Joe’s almost 30 years later. I remembered her instantly and all the fun times we had in Hong Kong. So… Don’t wait as long as we did. Start a group chat and keep in touch with pictures and words of encouragement. At least one of you will go on to save thousands more turtles, which I’m already happy about 🙏🏽🐢♥️
