After many days of hard work, it was finally FUN DAY! Can you believe us glimpsers got to wake up at 8:00 AM today? After 3 days of waking up before the sun did, we got to bond with friends and get away from our external thoughts. Although some outcomes of the day were unexpected, it was an overall exhilarating day.

As we headed to our destination we began with karaoke to hype up the group which ALWAYS works. After singing “party in the U.S.A.” for like the 7th time we made it to the beach. This day has been one of the best days this week we went to the beach played in the sand like we were all 12, all of us brought out our inner child from building sand castles to shooting eachother with water guns to a whole volleyball tournament. (A rematch needed immediately – Tsering)

After the volleyball match, we spent some time at the beach, looking for pretty seashells and making sandcastles, reminiscing about the experiences we endured these past few days.

We ate an amazing lunch at Rincon Del Faro, then some of us stayed at the pool, and others went back to the ocean. Eventually, we all jumbled together to play pool volleyball and squirt each other with our water guns, making enough memories for a lifetime.

After we all got dried up, we headed back to the bus and sang even MORE karaoke. We realized that it was our last day with our beloved bus driver Emilio who had been enduring all of our messiness, our yelling, and our chaotic energy. We took a final photo with him to lock in the memories. We’ll miss you Emilio π

Us glimpsers had free time until 6:00 PM, to explore the streets of Las Tablas. As we were roaming around and doing last minute shopping, we encountered the Polleras Queen festival. This is a festival full of tradtional Panamanian dances, clothing, and music. That made a group of us come out to watch and dance along to the music in which we later got a treat called Cocada, rosquetitos y empanaditas con dulce de leche. Delicioso!!

After the parade we headed to dinner in which it was our last dinner together in Las Tablas . Instead of eating a meal at the hotel we headed to a place called Las Tablas BBQ (crazy cause we kept seeing their truck outside one of the window :b) As we shared one of our few last meals together as a group, we talked, played jenga, and played BS (heh)
We finally got back to the hotel and even though it was a day later, we celebrated the Fourth of July with a cake and makeshift fireworks. We sung the national anthem and later continued our dancing and singing from the previous night. This wrapped up our stay at Hotel Piamonte and our fun day. This one is for you Tyler, who always persists on this being the words for unity clap. PAPAS FRITAS! π
It was so fun being LDD’s on such an enjoyable day.
Until next time,
Tsering, Abby, and Dontae π
