fUN DAY

Pura Vida! From Jason and Lily todays LDD’s. Today was an exciting day for all of us starting off with a special dance from the two of us. We had a bit of a later start and later breakfast allowing us to catch up on some sleep. Early in the morning Arlen, Everest, and I(Jason) Found a little gray kitten hidden underneath the kiddy pool. Thankfully we were able to get her out and we later named her Boots. She got a bath plus some treats and has stayed with us all day! Our breakfast was fried and scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruits, as well as the everyday options of gallo pinto, yogurt, and cereal. After breakfast we played a few games of telephone before getting on the bus.

We took a twenty five minute drive to the waterfall and saw some cows, horses, and dogs on the way. Once we arrived we began the steep hike down to the waterfall Jason only fell 5 times, nearly knocking his friend and teacher out. The waterfall was roaring so we unfortunately could not go swimming 🙁 nonetheless the view was ethereal and we got some amazing photos. After standing around and dipping our toes in the water for a little over an hour; we began the arguably worse hike back to the restaurant where to the suprise of no one jason only fell twice. It was then lunch time however the food wasn’t ready so we played some fun rock, paper, scissors games. We all ate either chicken fingers, arroz con pollo, or casado with beef alongside some papaya juice. After eating we go back on the bus and headed back to the base house.

Once we arrived home we showered and relaxed in preparation for our amazing guest speaker Fofo! He taught us about environmental justice and the Costa Rican environment. After an hour of learning we put our new knowledge to action in a fun mock trial type debate. Jason and Lily got to argue against eachother representing two different sides to an environmental policy topic. Lily’s side won #Jasonaloser but he tried switching sides because he knew I was right. (Jason here that is not true) BLEH. Big Love(our new found dog) joined us almost halfway through the guest speaker so we played with him afterwards.

Then we had some downtime before dinnertime. Tonight was a CLASSIC American dish, hambugers (durrburger) with fries. YAY! During downtime we began our ongoing pool tournament where Jason and I lost but it is okay. After dinner we are going to endulge in some karaoke. Today was an amazing day and as always big love from Costa Rica!

P.S. Hi Mom, Dad, Kay, Jay, and Daniel I love and miss you all plus Mia and Charlie I can’t wait to see you guys again but I am having so much fun! YAY
