Fun Day

fun day

Hello friends and family,

We are the Líderes Del Día, Emily and Averi. Today was our fun day after a tiring and exhausting yet endlessly rewarding 9 days in Chitre. We started our day with a delicious breakfast of bread with jam and butter, as well as scrambled eggs and vegetables. Soon after (waiting for Jason for 10 minutes) we boarded the bus and headed to the resort, Rincon del Faro on Uverito beach, arriving around 9 am. The bus ride, as always, was filled with endless chatter and impeccable music to sing along with. As always, our time on the bus immersed us further into the ambiance of community we built so quickly.

At Rincon del Faro, a gorgeous view with both a pool and ocean to swim in awaited us, and we quickly headed towards the ocean. Unfortunately, Emily, while attempting to leave the ocean and on her way to the pool, failed to walk sideways, and was stung by a jellyfish. (I’m ok mom don’t worry) After receiving medical attention, she quickly re-entered the pool, and swam for 4 more hours.

When we arrived, the sky was overcast, and yet, the temperature was warm and so was the ocean. Sadly, as the day went on, the wind picked up, and we left the ocean, and headed towards the pool. We played endless games, like volleyball and football, while eating chicken tenders with fries, and sipping on our virgin margaritas. Around 3 o’clock, we headed back to our accommodations, to spend our last free time in the streets of Chitre. Many went out to shop for souvenirs for family and friends, and others visited the nearby church.

Because today was a full of relaxation and fun, everybody had a smile on their face and got to spend time with each other in a different way than before. It was the perfect way to wrap up our time in Chitre as sadly, today is our last day here. Thankfully, we have spent it well, with lasting memories of laughter and splashing in the water.
