From NYC to Costa Rica!

Hi Global Glimpsers and Families –

My name is Kara Daniels and I am one of your GGLs. I am so excited to travel with 21 Glimpsers to Costa Rica this summer.

I am currently the Assistant Director of College Advising at SEO Scholars, a community-based organization in New York City. One of the reasons I’m so excited to travel with Global Glimpse is because every year, my students do an “Enrichment Program” where they travel abroad or to a college campus the summer before their senior year of high school (the year I work with them on their college applications). I’ve been dreaming of going on an “EP” myself and my dream has finally come true! I’m ready to be a support system for students on the trip and experience a new place together.

Outside of my work as a college counselor, I love to travel myself. I studied abroad in Chile in college and can’t wait to explore a new Spanish-speaking country, this time in Central America. I love to be outside and explore nature, and Costa Rica is the perfect place to explore and learn about how to live sustainability. I’ve been brushing up on my (very intermediate) Spanish in preparation for the trip. I also love reading, eating (that’s why I included my milkshake pic!) and playing puzzles and games. I will be bringing card games on the trip, so get ready to see my competitive side.
