FInal reflection Y Travel to San José -By ANthony and Sarah

Today was full of emotion! In the beginning of the day we started breakfast at 8 am with gallo pinto, hardened plantains, and eggs. It was followed with a final reflection seminar which was full of emotions. The final reflection included writing notes in each others journals, signing each others journals, and gave big love to each other for 30 seconds. Then we played games that wrapped up the time we had with each other which included everyone closing their eyes and tapping each other for different prompts. Some of the prompts included “Tap someone who has changed your life” Those question tapped into everyone’s emotions and suddenly turned into a sob fest. Everyone started realizing that this would be one of the last moments with each other and the last day at the basehouse. We all started hugging and showing each other how big of an impact we all had on each other!

AND to our surprise we finally got to see a tucan! It was like final sendoff from the basehouse that allowed us to leave Turrialba in happiness.

A little after being sentimental with one another, we had our last lunch in the basehouse, which was a delicious lasagna and a salad! It was one of the best lunches in my opinion! A little after that we got on the bus to head at the hotel in San José!

One hour into our drive we stopped at a souvenir shop in Cartago, Costa Rica. It was expensive but exciting to see everything that Costa Rica is so proud of! Seeing the amount of animals they embrace, the traditions they celebrate, and the food they love! For example, seeing so many sloths was outstanding because they are proud to be a country that endorse sloths. ( I was happy to buy some things for my parents and for myself because I want to be able to bring a part of Costa Rica back to Chicago – Anthony Carlos)

After a hour shopping at the store, we got back into road and to our luck there was a lot of traffic and it took about three hours to get to the hotel, so when we found out that we were going to get at the hotel at 5:45 we decided to head straight to the restuarant to not disturb our reservation. When we got there, we ate the food, which was really good ( especially the grilled chicken, mash potatoes, steamed vegtables, and salad! After eating our dinner, the restaurant surprised us with a brownie and ice cream! Soon after dinner we headed back to the bus and had the nightly meeting on the bus. After a short drive, we came to the hotel and everyone got settled. We then ended the night with going to the pool and making the last of our memories here in Costa Rica!

Thank you Global Glimpse for this experience and overall for the long term friends I’ve made and I will forever be grateful for everyone on this trip! Please enjoy the picture Anthony has created as the picture of the day!

sincerely- Anthony and Sarah
