Final day with the “family” :(

Today was one of the most memorable days within the ten days we spent with one another. We cried, we laughed, and most of all we had fun. It was sad in the sense that it was our last day all together, reflecting on how close we have all gotten.

We started off with Diego for breakfast as always and of course it was delicious. After that we headed up to our meeting spot in order to have our last reflection seminar! During the seminar we participated in many bonding activities to conclude our final day in our villa! A group of people were standing outside of a circle with another group. Anonymously we were able to let the group sitting down know how much they were appreciated by tapping someone on their shoulder when a prompt matched the person. We then continued to write on a poster what we could start, continue,or stop doing. Lastly we reflected on how we felt after these activities. Emotional moments were high during villa, a meaningful goodbye.

Afterwards we had our final meal with Diego which was such a bittersweet moment. Two of the girls, Tati and Izabelah created a song for him which we all learned and sang to him as our final goodbye and thank you. He cried which of course made us just as emotional. Diego was definitely one of the best parts of our trip.

We then got on the bus, hoping for not too long of a ride which we thankfully didn’t have. We had so much fun on the bus making jokes and more memories to remember. We made our stop at the souvenir shop in Cartago (you guys better love what we picked out for you) and had so much fun searching for gifts and new things to look back on.

We finally arrived at the hotel after a not so long bus ride and checked into the hotel, got quickly ready to head out for our dinner. We appetized a yummy broccoli soup and ate the meals we chose. We were then rewarded with ice cream and brownies! Yum. When we started leaving we got caught up in a which karaoke sesh where Julia took the mic and stole the show! After we headed back into the hotel and decided to take a splash in the pool!!

At the end we started this together and we ended this together with new bonds.

Really so happy for your time in Costa Rica Kanes. For the new friends and connections you made and all these exciting experiences. I also can’t wait to see you tomorrow because it’s great to see you out in the world but will also be great to have you home.
