Hi everyone! It’s Blessing and Nawra, your leaders for the final day. To start the day, we woke everyone up at 7 am for our last breakfast here at La Salle. Our amazing kitchen staff prepared eggs and cheese for breakfast sandwiches with a side of cereal, fruits, and orange juice. Soon it was time for our final Program Seminar, where we had self-reflection, big love circles, digital evaluations, and talked about habits we should start, stop, and continue. Then, Glimpsers took turns calling their parents to check in and ensure they were picked up on time after our 4:30 pm touchdown. Afterward, we had some free time where people played spoons and volleyball and chilled/talked. Then it was time for lunch: rice with meat, arepas, and a potato-egg salad.
After lunch, we had a bit more free time where people talked out in the common area and packed. At 2:30pm, we left for Baiguate (a waterfall). For about an hour, people swam, took pictures, and had fun. Afterward, we left to go do some souvenir shopping in town. We were able to go to two stores where we bought bracelets, keychains, shot glasses, e.t.c for loved ones. Then we went to the ice cream shop next door, which had many different flavors and sizes, such as rocket candy, dulce de leche, birthday cake, cookies & cream, and more.
We returned to La Salle and were given 30 minutes to get ready for dinner at a local pizza place. In those 30 minutes, all the girls coordinated to wear cute dresses, and the boys wore their matching shirts from the local supermarket. At the pizza place, we watched the Norway vs. England game and had some amazing pizza. After eating, we went for our final snack run at the supermarket, where many people bought authentic Dominican hot chocolate. We ended with our final nightly meeting, and now it’s time to go pack!
P.S. Can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!
P.P.S. I miss you Dad, Mom, and Hana. Can’t wait to tell you about everything tomorrow! Love you! -Nawra
