Final Day

Hi everyone

This is Nina and Erik writing to you from Costa Rica! Today as leaders of the day we had to wake up everyone at 7 am in order to start our final reflections of the trip and how we have developed our leadership skills throughout the 10 days we have had here.  We had gallo pinto with egg and sausage in the morning and had a little spare time to pack up for our final goodbyes leaving the Vista Turrialba Lodge.

For our final reflection activity we had 5 people talk about their favorite moments of the trip.  We had to write what we wanted to start doing, stop doing, and continue doing after the trip.  We also had to write in our journal a map of the process for preparing for the trip until now.  We also got in a circle and tapped to each other annonymous and talk about how important a certain person was to us.  Lastly we sent big love to someone for doing something special for us.

After we ate lunch. We had chicken in tomato sauce, steamed veggies, potatoes, and plantains which were so yummy! Carla from the pulperia came by and gifted us plantain chips and candies which was so sweet of her since we always buy from her. After all that we got to say goodbye to the Vista Turrialba owners and staff which we’ll deeply miss.

We took a bus to the hotel but on the way there we stopped by a souvenir shop and got gifts for our loved ones and some for ourselves. We had around a 2 hour drive to this fancy restaurant where most of us ate beef or chicken. After our meal we got on the bus and headed to the hotel which was only 5 minutes away from the restaurant.

At the moment we have settled at the hotel and a lot of us have jumped in the pool and had bonding time with one another! In the end we are ending off the night with a swim, a positive experience and attitude.  We are leaving in the morning and hope to see our families soon!
