Hello, it is Randy, and today Jessica, Richard, and I were los Lideres del Dia. Global Glimpse students had the opportunity to meet some local families; we had so much fun, and we learned a lot about their culture and lifestyle; students made traditional meals, played family games, and learned the values of community collaboration. Courage, Commitment, and Compassion

In my group, we were warmly welcomed by Adriana and her son Isac. We played fun games to win prizes. With simple tools like colorful blocks and a paper bag, we made a lot of fun memories together. We also got to meet a new fluffy friend called Bobby; he was the fiercest wiener dog in all of Costa Rica.

Dearest families, I hope all is well. It is I, Richard, one of the Lider del Día. As leader of the day, it was my job to support my group and make sure that they were doing what was needed; examples of this were making empanadas, talking with the families, making conversation, and being outgoing. For myself, I really enjoyed visiting the family’s house because of how they lived; they live with great pride in who they are as people, and they made sure to show it to us when we were there. As you can see in the photos, we loved being there!

¡Hola, Familias! I hope everyone is having a good night. It’s me, Jessica, one of the leaders of the day. Today my group and I got to spend the day with Maribel and her lovely granddaughter Samantha. They welcomed us into their home with open arms. We got to prepare food such as salads and sweet plantains. Everything she prepared, including the arroz con pollo, which went with the green salad and sweet plantains the students made, was absolutely delicious. We got to eat lunch and learn about Costa Rican culture from Maribel. We played family games and prepared warm tortillas and cheese empanadas. Maribel made the visit to her house so memorable and home-like that it helped my group and me get closer together.
The memories we made here are ones I will never forget.
Randy, Jessica, and Richard. Lideres Del Dia.
