DAY 2: Orientation & fun

Hola, los todos!! We come to you today fresh from a dip in the waterfall (but we’ll get to that later)! Our mystical day began pretty late at 7:30am with some delicioso bacon, eggs, and even more delicioso beef empanadas, we washed it all down with coffee once again. At 9:30 our real adventure began. We boarded the bus and were gleefully driven to the WHA-WHAT? The waterfall, obviously. 😜It was a treachorously steep treck but it was worth the stumbles and the trips because the waterfall was bombastically beautiful. We swam, we laughed, we tripped, we backflipped, we dove, the water was magical. After our much needed hour in the sun, we stairmastered our way up the forest. Waiting for us at the top was a scrumptiouly dumdum meal consisting of carribean coconut chicken and rice, with plantainas and arroz con leche on the side. The chicken was so tender it FELLL off the bone. We’re all still thinking about that heavenly made meal.
At 1:30pm, we were driven back by our amazing bus driver back to the b-b-b-b-b-base housee and arrived around 2pm to get ready for the guest speaker…
FOFO!! Who is an enviromental justice advocator who entertained but also heavily educated us on Costa Rican ecological politics, from 3-5pm who made an activity that got real heated quick!! Words were thrown, dominance was asserted, and the local community won, as they should.
Then, Althea, Ayana (who are the authors of this amazing blog), Claire and Mielle took some steps down to the secret spot to sculpt a village with faces out of some specially sourced mud (from our CAP clay days). They had so much fun that they almost lost track of time and returned to the dining hall just before dinner began at 6pm. On their plates tonight was crunchy, juicy, chicken salad paired with a crisp pineapple mint juice. Unfortunatly for Althea, her juice was drank first by a nasty misquito, who was evidently lost in the sauce.
Then like always, we had our nightly meeting at 7:00pm, where we passed the torch to Ruby and Madrid, after their amazing cup song preformance.
Now we’re bout to do karaoke after this, so peace out- from Ayana and Althea!!!!✌️
