Yo, In a few days, I am boarding a plane to Las Tablas, Panama, for a global leadership experience with Global Glimpse.
I am mostly excited, but also fully prepared to be out-negotiated by local street vendors while trying to practice my Spanish. I chose this trip to step outside my comfort zone and learn about a new culture. Las Tablas is known as the cultural heart of the region. I look forward to learning about its history and traditions, though I am slightly worried the humidity will turn my hair into a tropical frizzy cloud though.
I hope to develop my communication skills, which will be tested when I have to convince twenty tired teenagers to wake up at 6:00 AM. I am also eager to work on our sustainable service project, assuming my physical labor skills are better than my packing skills.
I cant wait and jokes aside I am very grateful for this opportunity. See you there.
