Hey Glimpsers! Greetings from Barbados!
My name is Nairée Taveras, and I’ll be guiding and supporting you all on this amazing journey through your GGLs this summer. I’m super excited about this experience! Having traveled pretty much my entire life, I love that I’ll be witnessing you all travel at such a young age. This will be my second trip with Global Glimpse, last year I went to Las Tablas, Panama. I will let you know now, I will be in charge of sleep cam while we’re on our bus rides LOL.

A little about me: I’m Dominican American, with family roots from the Dominican Republic—my home outside of the U.S. I’ve actually never been to Jarabacoa, so it’ll be just as new for me as it is for you! I’m a History Teacher in the South Bronx, so I’ll need us to lock in for the historical tour day!

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, hanging out with friends, reading, and staying up-to-date with current events. I’m currently writing this from Barbados, where I’ve spent three weeks exploring this beautiful island in the middle of the Atlantic. My love for travel started with trips to the Dominican Republic, but it truly exploded during college after studying abroad in Europe. Those experiences made me feel incredibly comfortable with travel, and I want you to trust that you’re in good hands.

I can’t wait to meet all of you on August 1st and start reading your blogs! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
