Global Glimpse: Day Two Update – Welcome & Orientation in Panama!

Hola from Panama!

Day two of our Global Glimpse journey was all about welcome and orientation as we continued to build a strong community and deepen our understanding of this beautiful country.

We began our day with a hearty breakfast at the Hotel Ojos del Rio in Panama City before heading out to the stunning Biomuseo. There, we explored Panama’s rich biodiversity and learned how this small but mighty country plays a huge role in connecting ecosystems from North and South America. It was a fascinating experience that sparked a lot of reflection and conversation among the students.

After our museum visit, we hit the road toward Chitré, our home for the next stretch of the trip. On the way, we stopped at the popular rest stop “Van y Ven” to enjoy a casual lunch, stretch our legs, and soak in the local atmosphere.

Upon arriving at Hotel Rex in Chitré, everyone settled into their rooms before we regrouped for our afternoon orientation seminars. These sessions helped the students become familiar with our expectations, safety guidelines, and how we’ll be engaging meaningfully with the local community over the next several days. We wrapped up the evening with dinner at the hotel and our daily tradition—passing the torch to our new Leaders of the Day, Scott and Joseph!

It’s been a full day of learning, traveling, and bonding. We’re looking forward to what tomorrow brings as we dive deeper into cultural exploration and service.
