Bonjour, Bon-Bini, Boungiorno, and HOLA! This is Eben and Mikaelyn writing as the leaders of today, our ‘free day’. We started today off with a typical wakeup at 7:15 with our breakfast at 8:00; today we enjoyed a wonderful French toast, egg, and sausage breakfast – with fruits, of course. To maximize our free time today, we did not include the mental warmup, opting for more leisure time with our peers.
During our free time we played games such as soccer, (fútbol here), and the card game, Pitch. Many people also hung out in or by the pool because of the beautiful weather early on in the day (which unfortunately did not carry on to the later hours). After our first period of free time, we watched a feature-length film focusing on what our guest speaker, Karla, from the cheese farm, went on to talk more in-depth about after our lunch.
Between those two events, though, we had more free time! There was a lot of Pitch, swimming, and tanning, and some people went off with the GGLs to the park or on a small walk around the neighborhood. We saw four parakeets! Then we came back to listen to Karla, and we were given prizes for participation! The gifts were snacks and playing cards, and the people with the most cards were given even more prizes, like ethically made chocolate!
After that, we had more time to hang out! We played a lot of games inside after our presentation and dinner (which was white rice with soup and salad) because it started to rain pretty heavily. We played the game Mafia and it was really fun! It was a lot of people’s first time playing in a while or at all! We also watched Kung Fu Panda at the end of the night. Everyone went into the living room, getting comfortable and eating snacks. A lot of people ended up dozing off. It ended pretty late and everyone’s getting ready to actually sleep right now, hehe!
