Day 9: Cultural Exchange & Cheese Farm

Today, we all woke up at 7:45 to start our day with a yummy breakfast made by our amazing chefs! We did a quick mental warmup and then walked over to the local school to meet and play with the few kids they had during their vacation!! We all had so much fun and made so many great memories, especially with it being our last day in Turrialba. Then, we went on a bus to a local cheese farm where we met and worked with the lead woman and learned about her cows and the environmental impact of her work. Lastly, we had a great dinner in downtown Turrialba and are currently finishing our night with games and dancing!

Today was a great example of our group’s ability to work as a team. At the school, we split into different groups to organize various activities, but in the end, we came together to combine all our ideas and had a really fun time playing with the kids. When looking back on our whole experience here, we really feel like over time we gained trust with each other and have become family. Our time here would not be the same if it wasn’t for the other students on our trip and our Global Glimpse Leaders and Program Coorindators. They have make this trip so special and we will never forget it.

Shoutout to everyone on this trip because at the beginning we didn’t know who each other was and was shy to say anything to each other, but thank you for this trip not only bonds were formed but strong friendship was built also. Shoutout to our Global Glimpse Leaders and Program Coordinators because without them, we don’t know what this trip would be like or how it would turned out. shoutout to all the amazing chefs for the amazing breakfast, lunch, and dinner and making sure we have all the needs and energy for the long day.
