“A single seed can turn into a forest. A single heart can transform a nation.” This was our quote; we chose to motivate ourselves to push through the day.

YO YO YO, it’s Carleigh, Luka and Gio, and we were your day 9 LDDs. Today was a little harder, we were down both of our GGL’s Chloe and Maddison. So, this put us in a spot of pure maturity and leadership. They couldn’t join us, so we had to take the day more seriously. Today was our last day of CAP, and we worked super hard with Eco Azuero to move crates of plants through the mountains in an assembly line. We had drop points along the forest to even out the work and keep our energy high. Spotted spider monkeys, and listened closely as we heard them howl in the distance. We did our best to split the work evenly and finished early. We hitched rides on ATVs on the way back and headed to lunch at Playa Venao.

For lunch, we ate grilled chicken, rice, plantains, and beans. As a reward for our hard work, our PC’s bought us all extra drinks to go with our meals. They saw how hard we were working and wanted to treat us. After lunch, we split up, with half of our group going to get ice cream and the others heading to the beach to watch the surfers. Afterwards, we all loaded back onto the bus, and some of us took a quick nap. When we opened our eyes, we were back at the hotel. We took much-needed showers, naps, and some of us hit the town as it’s not only our last cap day but our last day in Las Tablas.

We ended the day with a cap debrief and spoke as a group on the highs and lows, and reflected on how hard we worked to help the Panamanian community. We worked hard and are excited to watch our efforts flourish in the following years to come!

We passed the torch to our last but not least LDD, Sarina. Tomorrow is our last day in Panama, and we are all super excited to see our loving families, but are sad to leave the friends we have made on this long and exciting journey.
See you soon!
With Love,
Carleigh, Gio, and Luka

That was a beautiful quote guys, and great job leading today without your GGLs. You should all be proud of the hard work you’ve put in over the past 10 days. You really left your mark, and the community is better for it.
Enjoy your remaining time together. I hope you have taken plenty of pictures and exchanged contact details with your fellow GGs. This journey you have taken together will bond you forever.
Have a safe trip back home everybody. Luka, we can’t wait to see you buddy. Please let us know what you want to eat when you first get home. I was thinking some chicken, rice, and plantains. Just kidding, I can put a frozen pizza in.
