Day 9- CAP Day 3 Kairy, Mishkin, shirly

HI family and friends!!! 2 more days until we return home:).

We started off our LDD experince by showing our talents.

Kairy: Cartwheel🤸‍♂️

Today we woke up at 7 AM to get ready for our final CAP day. We started off with breakfast which was eggs🥚, toast 🍞, cheese 🧀, cereal🥛 , passion fruit🍊 and watermelon 🍉 juice, like always we all got up for seconds 😝🤤🤭. We picked Gio, Mauricio, and Gabi to wash dishes 🍽🧼. At 8:45 we started heading out to the CAP site, where we rode up a steep hill and almost slid back🤕, but we were okay!

Our task for today was to pour concrete on the side of the nonprofit’s founder’s house🏠 to stop it from slipping off the hill 🏔. We had a big group constantly shoveling and mixing concrete while another group brought buckets🪣 of it down the sides of the hill to lay it on the ground. After finishing one side, we got started on the other. This side was precarious because the assembly line had to work around barbed wire near the house. After half a day’s work, we were a great position and far ahead of schedule, so we called it a day and finished our CAP project🥳.

Around 1pm, we had lunch which was chicken🐣, rice🍚, beans🫘, salad🥗, and dried out yuka, it was very yummylicious😋. Later at 3pm, Heriberto took us all out for ice creams 🥶for the 3rd time in a row🤯. Afterwards we went to la casa de cambio to exchange money🤑for the last time this whole trip:(. We headed to La Sirena for snacks and necessities. We came back to La Salle where we had a debrief/self-reflections on the CAP project and our personal experience. We ended the day with free time and then dinner which included: Pumpkin veggies soup🎃, salad, rice, and smashed plantains. Sadly no one went up for seconds…..😳

Lastly, we had our nightly meeting where was discussed the question and quote of the day followed by passing the torch to Shae and Ari. We shared big loves and did our unity clap where our word was “EMILIEEEEE”. We gave an ultimate big love to Shae for buying us delicious cake🎂.

Thank you for all the messages Dayana, Mom, Stephany, Ari, Anais, and my other friends:)) love you guys, miss you guys can’t wait to come home and my sleepover on Monday with Ale and Yaz!!!
