Day 9 – CAP Day 🌳(Tree = Three HaHa)

Hello Glimpser Guardians! This is Miley, Aldy & Karen, your Day 9 LDDs.

Today was muddy, messy, and magnificent! In CAP Day 3, we teamed up again with Pro Eco Azuero to help reforest habitat for spider monkeys: planting saplings deep in the Panamanian forest. It wasn’t easy… climbing steep hills, slipping in the mud, and trying to keep track of each other through the thick trees. But we pushed through together.

We learned a lot about adaptability—especially when things got tough. Communication was our biggest hurdle, with people spread out across the forest, but we worked hard to stay connected and support one another. We were reminded not to leave anyone behind and to respect everyone’s boundaries and needs in a high-stress environment.

Favorite moment? Definitely the laughter as we all slipped and slid through the mud like a wild jungle obstacle course. We didn’t see spider monkeys but do you know what we saw?? Capuchin monkeys swinging in the trees!

We enjoyed lunch with sunshine and waves at Playa Venao. Back at our hotel, we bought a cheesecake to thank Ilka and Carolina, and a birthday cake to celebrate Nathalie, Alonzo, and Zayna’s birthday. And of course, we celebrated our last night in Las Tablas: a perfect time to reflect on how far we’ve come.

Signing out for the last time in Las Tablas! Tomorrow we pack and head back to Panama City en route to sunny (hopefully) LA!!

Adios!

Karen, Aldy, and Miley xxx 💗💗💗
