Day 9: CAP Complete :)

Good evening, global glimpse families and friends!

We are “The Way,” aka Sora, Carrie, and Ari. Last night we were introduced as leaders of the day through a similar scene as the “I Want It That Way” interrogation from the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine, where people sang who guessed it, “I want it that way.” Thankfully, we are the way, and we brought a lot of positivity to the final day of our Community Action Project! Waking up in the morning and eating our breakfast in silence and with soreness, we were prepared for a long day of work, which we left for at 8:45 in the morning. We are proud to say that everyone worked super hard today, making sure to encourage breaks and switching out consistently between drinking water and shoveling cement, as well as watching the local dogs. We were able to finish all of our work in a single session because we all decided to thug it out and keep pushing through until 1, which is when we went back to the villa for lunch. We then proceeded to free time for a good 6 hours, including an impromptu trip to the souvenir shop where we were able to pick up gifts for y’all 🙂 (WE HOPE YOU ENJOY THEM!!!!). The rain on the way there was really entertaining to watch until it began to pour, which was still entertaining but in more of a scary and awe-inducing way. We then went back home, where we all had some more free time, and I(Sora) found myself getting my eyebrows and henna done with friends, including the rest of the way, and others from the delegation. It was definitely a learning experience for some, and it became much more fun as more and more people began to join. After free time, we had dinner, which was filled with laughs and delicious food. After dinner, we had some more free time, where we sat on our porches and talked while we waited for our penultimate nightly meeting, where we then handed the torch off to Nylah, Willow, Karla, and Andrea. We also celebrated our final CAP day by getting T-shirts from the organization that we worked with to build the houses! The organization was kind enough to reach out and thank us, and hopefully, we will be in touch for future Global Glimpse Trips. The relationship we have built with the community here will definitely be continued for future denominations, and I hope that the work we have done in this community will be helpful for decades to come. That being said, we are T-1 day before we begin our trip back home! As excited as we are to come home, we will definitely miss all of our friends and the community we built here. I personally miss my friends and family at home as well as my special people to keep in mind when I think about going home; however, I will also miss every single person on this trip so much. The bonds and connections I have built make me know for sure that this trip will be in my 7 minutes(that is, the 7 minutes that play in your mind before you die). This trip will be unforgettable, and I will forever hold these friendships and relationships in my mind as I think back on these 10 days.

Goodnight, Families and Friends! We will see you very soon 🙂

PS: Mr.Reddy this is Ari, the other Ariana is not me :\ #gowashhouse
