Hiiii GG Fam !!! It is Marysol, Monse and Jack, your day 8 LDD’s. (The best leaders) Right🤏🏽 right🤏🏽 right🤏🏽 right🤏🏽, if you know you know.

Our day really started yesterday at 7 during the nightly meeting. The question we wanted all our glimpsers to be thinking about was “What have I learned about myself through the planning and execution of the Community Action Project? Last night was rough but we made it out of the trenches. Your kids are definitely having fun, that’s all we can say for now.

We started the day bright and early at 6 am, with some very polite knocking we awoke your sleeping beauties. Our knocking was received very well, and everyone made sure to let us know how much they loved it. Everyone (specifically Anjali) was very punctual in getting to breakfast, arriving on the dot at 7:30. This morning we had some very yummy pancakes, fried eggs and sausage, paired with iced tea. After breakfast, we embarked on an elegant ride to the Santa Ana school, where we started with an energizer.

After our energizer we began finalizing our Community Action Project. Fortunately, all we had left to do was put the flowers into their designated beds and peel tape off of the backboards. We finished the community action project off strong with raking leaves and leveling out the dirt around the beds. Jack thought his blister popped but it is back and more blistery than ever. Kylie and Jonathan bravely volunteered to put on traditional Panamanian clothing and join the kids of Santa Ana in a traditional dance. We surprised the kids with a pinata (Anjali’s great idea) which they went absolutely feral for. We all definitely had a blast!

After that we played some basketball and volleyball, and headed back to our hotel with our snacks. We were welcomed back at the hotel with some delicious chicken soup, rice and plantain chips for lunch. After lunch we headed off in our own directions to spend our free time. Some glimpses went to the nearby Carolina Cafe, some bought coconuts to drink out of while we walked, others got chicken sandwiches, and some even got haircuts. After returning from our side quests, we reflected on our travels so far. After our reflection and a little dance party, we finalized our letters of appreciation using our drafts. For dinner we had a delicious meal of bacon burgers, fries and Panamanian coca cola. Jack loved his burger so much he ate it in less than a minute. Some were so full they needed to take a power nap (Scott, Valentine, and Anjali) before our nightly meeting.

Personally, being leader of the day taught me that a good leader must have persistence but above anything patience, patience for yourself and DEFINITELY for others .- Marysol.
Hello guys it’s Monse one of todays LDDs. It’s been both a great and rough day that most of all taught me how there are always ups and downs in any situation and you just need to ride out the rough patches to get to the fun stuff like playing word search.
What’s up guys it’s Jack, today was very fun, navigating a lot of unique situations and I am excited for tomorrow’s LDDs, and happy birthday to my mom Nancy (Hi from Alisa).
For our final task we had our wonderful nightly meeting and passed on the torch to our very talented singing duo Xyriah and Alisa.

Yooooo Jonathan
It’s Adrian from school
I had nearly forgotten the date of your trip, and you told me in a text!
Turns out we have the same trip location. It’s wild to see you in the same places I was in not a week and a half ago. Kudos to you for volunteering to wear and dance in that traditional Panamanian clothing. I would’ve been quaking in my boots at the thought of it.
I hope you all saw the little “CH2C” marking we left in the middle post of the tree nursery, and that you left one of your own.
Also hey Franklin, good to see you here too!
I left this nation a changed man, tired and sodden, I mean absolutely drenched, in sweat. I hope this trip will have the same impact on you all, as it did on me.
