Hello! Today was the second day of CAP. A lot of us were tired from yesterday, but still continued to push through today’s events. We woke everyone up at 7 am and we all got together for breakfast at 8 am. For Breakfast, we had mashed potatoes, fried salami, fried cheese, and scrambled eggs. Everyone fueled up and left the Rancho (a.k.a. The Villa) for the school. The morning shift consisted of finishing the garden and prepping it for plants, sanding wood for the fence, and painting the wooden pieces. We sang along to some good tunes and chiseled throughout work. At 12 pm, we left the school and headed back to the Rancho (The Villa) for some good eats. We ate rice with vegetables, pork chops, salad, sweet plantains, and some avocado. After lunch, a majority of us decided to rest up for the second half of our day! We headed back to the school and finished our jobs. The GG leaders and staff helped put up the fence with the finished pieces of wood and others continued to paint. 3 hours of hard work in the sun flew by and it was time to clock out for the day. When we returned to The Villa, the GG leaders held a seminar where we wrote thank you letters to Global Glimpse supporters who allowed us to be on this trip. Overall, today was tiring for all of us, but we managed to persevere and rest up for our final CAP day tomorrow!

Barbara’s Glimpse
Today, I woke up early, before the sun, officially at 6 (but low key, I was actually up since 5 in the morning). I started quickly getting ready as I recognized I had the duty to wake up The Villa this morning. I made sure to wake my co-leaders up. We ironed our torches, a striped blue, white, and red ribbon, as they had gotten crusty from all the other leaders’ hard work throughout the days. After getting ready, we set out to wake up the villagers and rush them for breakfast (we are always starving, from hard work, obviously). We ate our delicious meal made by our amazing cook staff and left to clock in at the primary school to continue the previous day’s work. We separated into three groups as soon as we got there: the gardeners, the painters, and the wood sanders. The first 3 hours of work in the morning, I sanded the remaining wood, primarily focusing on long pieces of wood. The painters focused on finishing the entire color pencil-themed fence. After that, we came back to our temporary housing to eat. I finished my plate with rice and plantains, which tasted exactly like how my mami makes them. I miss my mom’s cooking sooo muchhh. Anyways, we washed our dishes and seeing that we had extra time, I took a quick energy nap. Once again, I departed from The Villa to work hard and this time I rotated to the painting station and helped out with installing the wood planks to begin putting the fence together. We had some difficulties, but we ended up fixing them and finished one quarter of the fence. As leader of the day, I came up with a game to keep each other hydrated and we noticed that today was the first day that we finished all the gallons. We were so proud that we held each other accountable for our water intake. While working, people became immersed in the game, trying to emerge as winners. We arrived at our accommodation and wrote some thank you postcards to all the Global Glimpse supporters. It was really nice to be able to write a little message. I got to call my mommy, which I didn’t sob this time but it was comforting to hear her voice once more. Soon after I finished, it was time for dinner. We all got to eat a fulfilling meal and I ran to shower before the nightly meeting. To wrap it up, we counted the tallys and the winner ended up being Amelia. The prize was a Maruchan cup, rainbow stripes, and Pringles. We summarized the day and spoke about our thoughts, the question of the day, the quote of the day, and a plus & wish. To end our rule, the talent show was given by our Lideres del Dia of tomorrow and we handed over our torches. As I finish this blog, I am getting ready to take a dip in the pool and make s’mores during tomorrow’s BBQ. Thank you for reading our blog and giving everyone this opportunity.

It was so important to me to thank anyone and everyone as i felt so lucky to even be in their presence. I learned so much from the locals and wanted them to know how significant even 2s conversation was. I hope to talk more at school you taught me so much thank you for being so kind. Richard I knew from our zooms you were such knowledgeable person and I knew you would make me grow in way I couldn’t even imagine. Our reflections meant a lot to me and i will carry them with me everywhere I go. You humbled me and check me in ways I would normally hate but i knew it was for my greater good so i appreciated it wholeheartedly. Thank you for seeing me and the pure intentions I had for those around me. Your words cut deep and I tried to lead with my heart thank you for seeing that. The mark I left with thoese communities was the priority of my trip. Arleen you so beautiful truly there are so many more conversations I wanted to have with you. To know you is to respect you you’re so so funny. It breaks my heart to see you cry I wish I could wrap you in my arms and tell you you are strong you are important and you are so loved. Let people in more you are truly so amazing and i’m thankful you let me in I will forever cherish. Continue to be you unapologetically I will love you forever. Speak more I loved every time you made a joke. Your heart is as beautiful as your face. I can’t wait to make more memories with you. ps you never have to worry about our private conversations i will carry them to the grave. If you ever need to talk I will always be here for you! Emma you were so sweet and thoughtful for bring us together to celebrate roberto’s birthday it made me so happy we could be apart of your vision. I always wanted everyone to feel included. Keep rewatching the video so no detailed goes unmissed and guys know just how greatful I am for your words and the way you care for me as I do for each of you. I am definitely more driven to make a change and hopeful for the lives I can touch. Ardis “the bestest” LMAOOOO you really really are though never forget it! I knew we were gonna be great friends on zoom we talked a lot and were curious my kindred spirit fr. I have so much respect and admiration for you and hope to be more like you. Saying good morning was my highlight I loved having personal and different conversations with each of you. I do need to stop apologizing 😭😭 i’ll work on that. I love you sm thank you for being you ardis. I love allll of youuu. At the beach it was a joy to ask you personal question and i remember exactly what you’re talking about. Stay true to the response you gave me they are valid. I just got a call from you guys while writing this I started bawling I miss you guys so much thank you for calling me it meant the world. I had so much more say. Ailanie I love you thank you for using your time to call me. Say hello to everyone for me. Anthony i’m glad that’s the impression I left.
