Day 8 – CAP Day 2

Hi hi hi to all our friends and families!!!! This is Yaretzi, Frenyeli, and Emerson.

For today we woke up at 6:30 am for our trip to the school. Everyones was super excited because our last trip to the school for CAP Day One got cancelled.

The breakfast for today was bread with ham/chicken which is called deretidos in Panama. After this we all got ready to get on the bus. As Lideres del Dia we were in charge of making sure everyone was on time and ready for a great CAP execution.

We did a health check-in with Health and Logistics Coordinator Heyling and everyone was doing well. Then we headed out to buy materials at the “Do It” center near our hotel for our CAP project. We took quite a while (around an hour) to get our materials. We headed out at 8 am and got to the school at 9:40 am.

Our groups were very committed to completing this project on time before our deadline tomorrow 8/18/26. Since our time at the school was cut short everyone worked extra hard and we are now more than half way done with our murals and cursive alphabet. We worked on the saint provinces of Panama and the entire map of Panama. They were time consuming but the work was worth it!!! We also painted an ice cream mural that helps student count from 100 to 100,000.

After being half way done with our work we got some ice cream from the principal and the flavors were pineapple, papaya and melon. For lunch we got chicken and rice delivered to us from the hotel to the school. It was very yummy and very very tasty!

We left the school at 3:30 pm for our private trip back to the hotel. Once we got back at 4 pm glimpsers had the chance to call home during their free time or go out and explore Chitré. Today was the last day to do so 🙁

After free time ended we had our seminar with Danielle and Bryan. They’re the best! We all started writing our postcards to the Global Glimpse supporters. We are all very grateful for each and everyone of them. #grateful #chicken&rice

Once our seminar ended we had dinner which was made by Samy who we all also love. It was chicken (pollo guizado), boiled potatoes, and salad with iced tea.

Right after this we had our nightly meeting which was lovely because everyone was giving big love to each other and being appreciative for all the hard work we all got done today at the school. We passed the Lider del Dia torch over to Christopher, Adriel, and Octavio!! Christopher’s talent was dancing bachata and salsa, Adriel’s talent was slam poetry about everything we’ve done in Panama, and Octavio’s talent was a magic trick of him reforming a dented can and refilling an empty can. We were all very amazed!!!

Additionally, it was Octavio’s birthday today!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY OCTAVIO! Our Global Glimpse Leaders surprised Octavio with a delicious cake that we all enjoyed. #yummy
