Day 8 – CAP Day 2

Hey blog whats up its the leaders of the day Edgar, Kaelani and Lydia! Today we had a very productive second day of working on our CAP.

We started the day off by waking up bright and early at 7AM to some heavy rain! Then we had a very filling and delicious breakfast of pancakes, fruit loops, toast, eggs, and fruit. After fueling ourselves, we transported to the CAP site and got straight to work at 9AM!!

For the next three hours, we worked hard on painting the rest of the colored pencils for the fence of garden. A couple of strong Glimpsers worked together to put up the fence, including Santiago, William, and Dylan. We personally worked on finishing colored pencils by AGGRESSIVELY sanding the wood and painting.

After our hard work, we hopped on the bus to transport back to La Salle (our home) for lunch. Although we were very exhausted, our food (rice, beef, yuka fries, potato salad, vegtables) got our energy pumping!! Then, we transported back to the CAP site to continue working on our many tasks. We continued to put together the fence, started on a mural next to the garden, and started painting the garbage/recycle/compost bins.

We put our blood, sweat, and tears into these projects, and by 4:30PM, we nearly finished the mural and COMPLETELY finished the fence. There was whisper in the mist of the wind and we instantly knew that we had to leave. So, we wrapped up and transported back home to La Salle. Then, we had an hour and a half of free time until dinner at 6:30PM. We had delicious rice, plantains, potatoes, salad, and ham.

After dinner, we had our nightly meeting at 7:30PM, where we wrapped up our day and introduced the new leaders for tomorrow. We saw some amazing talents like singing from Rucheka and Serina, and break dancing from Santiago.

That brings us to this moment, where we are writing this blog during our free time!
