day 8 – CAP 3

Hey it’s Matthew, I had the opportunity to be a leader of the day with my friend Kevin. Both of us came up with really good ideas that built off one another and it was really fun to be the leader. We were able to finish our project for Nutre Hogar in time even if it was rushed and we had slacked of in the middle, by the end of it we finally finished our murals, the doors and the wall. We also finished remodeling the garden. It contributes to our accomplishments as I’ve never had an opportunity to have a huge impact on a really important cause but I enjoyed it a lot even if I slacked off a little bit. I miss my family but having these tasks to do does distract it but in the back of my head I miss everyone who had an impact on my life before I left. K.J.C.

Hey it’s Kevin and today I was a leader with my friend Matthew. We mixed up a lot of things from team calls and seating charts to try and make the day more fun. Despite having pressure into finishing our project, we managed to make it through due to our leadership and I feel like me and my partner Matthew did a really good job. When the project was completed, we wrote a speech for the employees of Nutre Hogar and made sure they knew how grateful we were for the opportunity to come into these kids lives to mark a difference helping them feel more comfortable in a place where they have no family.
