Hello, buenos dias from Ariana, Jah-Fi, and Tatum! ^_^
We are writing from day 8 in Costa Rica Turrialba! We started our day bright and early, waking up at 6:30. After getting ready we all sat down for a delicious breakfast which consisted of french toast, omelet, sausage, fruit and freshly made juices. Once we were done eating our breakfast we moved on to do our mental warm up. In this we did morning stretches to prepare our bodies for our long walk and played a game of Heads Up Seven Up to get our brains working. Upon finishing up our mental warm up we filled up our water bottles, applied our sunscreens and bug sprays, then made our way to our work site.
The CAP project was located at the local soccer field, which was about a 30-40 minute walk from our accommodation. After settling our stuff down we debriefed on our duties and agenda for the day. The agenda consisted of cleaning and painting dressing rooms, bathrooms, benches and stools. To achieve this goal we all divided into three different groups, one group starting on cleaning, one was in charge of taking out items, and one was in charge of painting.

Halfway through the start of our work day we settled down to have a fruit and snack break, shortly after we got back to work for another two hours. Once this was fulfilled we had lunch while the dressing rooms were drying. For lunch we had, rice and beans with steak and chicken strips, salad, sweet plantains, and tamarindo juice at the work site. After lunch we had a quick break to walk to the corner store to buy some snacks and drinks for later in the day. To continue the work we did we reconvened with the group and went over the expectations of our last few hours of work. This included, painting the bathrooms, the benches in the lockers room, and continuing to clean the bench outside in preparation for painting tomorrow. That concluded our work for the day we wash the brushes and keep materials and tools, which we luckily finished before the rain came pouring down, and then we made our way back to the accommodation.

Once we got back from our project we had two hours of free time due to finishing our jobs early. At about 5 pm, we regrouped in order to begin drafting our thank you letters to our global glimpse supporters. Shortly after, we got ready for dinner. We had a delicious white sauce chicken pasta with a side of salad, garlic bread, and refreshing limeade. Once dinner was done we had about an hour of downtime where people settled down for the day and relaxed before our nightly meeting.
During our nightly meeting, we recapped our day, gave our love and gratitude to one another—along with a few wishes and pointers of improvement. Lastly, we passed down our torch to the next leaders for tomorrow and got ready for bed.
Sincerely Missing You,
Ariana, Jah-FI, And Tatum!!!!!
