Hii everyone,
We are your day 7 leaders!!! Today we woke up bright and early at 6 AM to wake up all of our fellow Glimpsers for a day full of excitement and new experiences. We came down, ate scrambled eggs and toast with strawberry pineapple juice. Then we did a mental warmup, which informed us about biocultural diversity and specifically the farm site we were going to called Finca Pamel. Then we were on our way!

We took a 20-30 minute bus ride and arrived at Finca Pamel only to see the most beautiful farm and wildlife. It was several fields with animals, plants, a hiking trail, and magnificent mountainside view. First we fed the goats, then we milked the cows, which was a very cool and interesting experience!

After, we split up into 2 groups, where one group cleaned the animals pens and the other group planted trees/plants. The chickens were very wild, trying to run out of their cages while we cleaned up their coop. Those who were planting had to remember the order of specific plants and transfer them to a plant bed. We had to dig holes in the soil with various tools, place the plants in the holes, and water them vigorously. We definitely all got our hands dirty!

We returned to the circle where we began and thanked the farmers for our tour and experience.

We left the site with a broadened perspective and many new, long-lasting memories. We returned back to the hotel and had a delicious lunch of pork chops/chicken with rice, salad, potatoes, and pineapple juice.

Then we all showered, as we were definitely feeling like we had been on a farm for 3 hours, and came back into the restaurant for meeting and planning for our CAP day tomorrow. After that, we had our free time, which many enjoyed despite a sudden rain shower. Some got Dominos Pizza, while others shopped for souvenirs, and a few got snacks from a bakery and brought them back to share.
Later, we had dinner of chicken nuggets and french fries, which everyone enjoyed as it reminded us of home! It was complemented with pineapple juice and lots of conversation and laughter.
We ended our day with the nightly meeting where we elaborated about the question and quote of the day. Then we had the talent show where we learned how to make paper hearts and passed torch over to the next Global Glimpse Leaders…..
We are happy to pass the torch to Emerson, Frenyeli, and Yaretzi!!

Thank you so much to everyone who has been leaving blog comments. Glimpsers get to hear about these daily so please continue to leave them on the blogs! 🙂

Hi Mom, Dad and Family
It’s Xavia and I miss you guys so much! I miss your cooking, love, advice, texts, and hangouts so much. Whenever I get a comment from you guys and even hear your name, I get teary-eyed but am so excited to hear what you have to say. I have made so many great, lifelong friends who love my intense skincare advice and corny jokes, and love me despite how messy my side of the room is here and how long I take in the shower/bathroom…(sorry lol I know you wouldn’t want me to do that but I am getting better with it). We are currently obsessed with plantain chips, dark chocolate, aloe-vera juice, and these no-sugar fiber chocolate chip cookies because newsflash: none have us have been pooping normally. I seriously miss you guys, Esayah, Grandma, Auntie, Bruno, Netflix, my blankets, my bed, my avocado toast, my yogurt bowls, my friend hangouts and being able to flush toilet paper, but it’s actually been so much fun and such a new and exciting experience here. I am so grateful for all that you do for me and I love you guys so much. Tell Auntie and Grandma I am so immersed in my Panamanian culture and that we are celebrating Auntie’s birthday as soon as we come back. Tell Esayah I miss him and Bruno as well. I am loving my time here but I can’t wait to come home and tell you guys all about my crazy experience.
Love and miss you guys most,
sincerely Xaviaaaaaaaaaaaa
p.s. I have not spent a crazy amount here, clap for me!
