Hello parents, guardians, families, and friends, it’s Aime, Antonio, and Milo coming to you as the leaders of the day today. We began our day with waking up at 7:15 and getting ready for breakfast at 8:15. For breakfast, we ate toast, scrambled egg, sunny side up egg, pineapple, papaya, and avocado. After breakfast we headed towards the lobby where Antonio gave us some words of encouragement and Milo helped lead our stretches.

After this we headed on our 3 minute walk to the community in which we’ll working in. There we met up the contractor who will be helping us lead our project, Don Jose. Don Jose gave us a quick run-down of what our task will be and stowed us how to use the tools. after this, we learned that it was his birthday, so we quickly sang happy birthday to him in Spanish and began. Our task for today was to begin building the frame of the house with wood and nails. we started this process out by measuring out metal rods that were inserted through the cinder block base. after that we began to saw out the spaces and nailing everything together to start our base off.

After we went back to the hotel for a two hour break where we ate lunch. At lunch, we ate chicken, rice, fried plantains, beans, and salad. During this two hour break, students were able to run down to the convenience store, catch up on some rest, and just hang out.
P.S: Holiiii equipo!!!!! – Aime
In the afternoon we had are free time we started cap time pt2 of the day and we were working and we made a new friend named estrella the puppy and we finished the foundation for the walls . in the three groups we split the work and we did not only build a home but a strong bond that cant be broken by the little bumps because we are not just a community but a family. being a leader is hard because lots of people think that leading means to be strong and to not show weakness but today showed me that being a leader it to show your flows and to work with your team and not to Cary the world on your shoulders. The meaning of a team is to be a unit and to care and love and to be you.
P.S: Hi mom sister brother hope you are doing good and eating well see you soon and wait to tell you all the story’s and good people I have seen and met love you lots. – Antonio

Sup guys it’s me Milo!!! I’m gonna be taking you guys through the evening events of today!
To kick off the start of the evening, we all gathered in the common area for a seminar where we all reflected on the support from everyone involved in this program. This population goes from parents, siblings, friends, all the way to organizations, CEO’s and donors to this program. The group took a long moment to appreciate all of these people in our lives by drafting letters to the types of supporters I mentioned before, as well as “big love” notes to the main people who made this trip come true.
After this, the group dispersed into free time where we gathered on the balcony and had a mini concert/photo session!! The balcony was filled with laughter, love, and joy for over an hour. Dinner was delayed for nearly 40 minutes and we were all STARVING and once the news of dinner arrived, we all RAN inside like we would die without it.
Speaking of dinner, dinner was mashed potatoes, fried cheese, cooked salami, and veggies!!! It was yummy but all the food is great so that’s not saying much compared to the rest of the meals. Unfortunately we don’t have any pictures of it but trust me it looked gooooooood!!
After dinner, we went to have our nightly meeting where we closed off the day with quotes and initiate our new LDD’s tomorrow!! (I’m keeping them a secret for a surprise)
Anyways…
It’s been on my bucket list to hold a chicken for over a year and look at this.

Also, my glasses broke and I looked like a pirate for a good 2 hours before Sam gave me tape to fix it but you guys already saw a picture of that earlier so I wont take up more space.

Thank you guys for reading our blog post tonight! I hope you all are looking forward to the next!!
PS. Hello parents I don’t wanna come home 🙂
