Day 7 cap day 2

Hola chicos! Today was day 7 of our trip to Costa Rica and we did so much today during our 2 day of CAP. Leaders of the day were Angelin, Valeria, and Bryndon.

Starting off the morning at 8:00 with a great breakfast: eggs, sausages, french toast, and fruits. Many of us had great conversations and laughs, even though we started off late we were all positive and ready for the day ahead (FUN FACT: The transformer blew over night so our late start is because we didn’t have power. We’re good now though) Everyone got ready to head to our community work again at the soccer field. We did our mental warm up at the field, Simon Says. Everyone put up a good fight at first, but there was only one winner, Christel (YAY).

We then began our work by splitting into three groups with our three leaders helping to guide our teams. For the first part of our work, Angelin led the painting, Valeria led the raking, and Bryndon led the pickup of rocks. Each group worked hard in their sections before momentarily pausing to watch the local soccer game. At the end of the game, the team that won was Santa Rosa who we were rooting for (also where we are staying). We all had fun cheering for the teams before having our amazing lunch brought by our favorite chef Diego and his lovely wife Nela.

Our groups then rotated to complete the work at the soccer field. Angelin’s group did raking, Valeria’s group picked up rocks, and Bryndon’s group completed the painting work in the shower rooms. Towards the end two groups began to rake the leaves in front of the locker rooms while one group continued to paint.

After a long day of raking, picking up leaves and rocks, and painting. We started to head back home and had our well deserved free time, after our free time something delicious was baking in the kitchen and that our bakers Cris (aka CPG), Arely, and mixer Sofia, who was making tres leches! Everyone had a good time eating and sharing even though we did arrive a bit late for dinner. Speaking of dinner, we had a very special guest, Diego our fabulous chef invited his son Diego Jr! After eating a delicious meal that consisted: nachos con pico de gallo, salsa, lechuga, frijoles, y carne. Later that night, we had our nightly meeting where we reflected the day and had a very heartfelt, passionate, BIG LOVE!. Finally, we passed the torch to our new leaders Kamryn, Arely, and Christell.

That was the end of our lovely day, creating more memories that last, We hope this gave a more insight of how strong our bond has been growing.

Adios chicos!
