Day 7: CAP Day 2

See all the pictures from today’s adventures here!

We woke up to the song “Work” by Rhianna and did our mental warm-up. For our mental warm-up today, we played ‘tailes’ with t-shirts. Then, we set out for CAP Day 2. This time, we had to bring our shovels and pickaxes in order to dig trenches for placing a new water pipe. It was very hot in the morning, but we all powered through. We came back from lunch, took a power nap, and headed back to work with more energy. The “thunderstick” was popular, and even though not a lot of breaks were taken, our energy never faltered. We made letters of appreciation after we came back. We also had dinner, our nightly meeting, and another movie night.

Throughout the day it was amazing to see how everyone was able to power through, get work done, and still have a positive attitude. Everyone is always so encouraging and up beat which makes anything possible. Seeing so much positivity makes me feel like even the biggest challenges can be overcome if you all work together. Even though many of us started without knowing each other, we still ended up working really well together and have grown many different connections. We just hope these connections can continue to prosper and grow even after we leave this amazing place.
