Hi everyone, today’s leaders were Shyanne, Emily, and Miranda. We started CAP Day 2 bright and early, waking up at 5:00 AM. We grabbed a quick breakfast and then headed on the bus to travel to Pro Eco Azuero for our painting projects. The bus arrived at 7:00 AM, and from there we went straight to work, finishing up the ledge we started from the day before. Next, when the kids arrived, we did an icebreaker with the children. Everyone grabbed two people’s hands, ending up in a knot. The goal was to untangle ourselves without letting go.

After we finished our icebreaker, we split into three groups: one group to paint recycling bins, one group to paint designs on the ledge, and one group to paint the mural. After two hours of hard work, we took a much needed snack break with the kids, sharing snacks with each other. 15 minutes later, we headed back to work, continuing until our lunch break at 12:30. We enjoyed a hearty meal planned by the hard working staff. As soon as lunch ended, we got back to work for the last time of the day. We completed the recycling bins and ledge, and we nearly completed the mural.

Then, we headed back to our hotel and arrived there around 2:30. From there, we had free time until Dinner. Maykeld took a group of students out to get ice cream and go shopping, which was extremely rewarding after a hard day at work. Finally, we finished our day off with dinner and our nightly meeting.

Through all of the sweat, we strengthened our perserverance, hard work, and collaboration skills. Whether it was challenges talking with the children or communicating with others, we finished our day off positively and excited for CAP day 3! Our next leaders of the day will be Penelope, Jahzara, and Sarah.
